Great idea. My stuff is often fictional observation of natures minute details. Memories of being a free range kid in the country of the 1960s. I’ll check in and maybe try a non fictional piece.
I love this idea! I write from a more social science background about human/more-than-human relationships and thinking about future ecofeminist ways of organising society that is more in harmony with nature - would this fit at all?
Hi Joanna, yes absolutely! My aim with the group was really to make a space for narrative nonfiction writers (whatever form that takes: popular science, travel, memoir, essays etc), since in my experience writing groups are almost always made up of fiction writers. Please interpret the science and nature focus very broadly. As long as we don't end up a group of speculative fiction writers penning sci fi short stories about robots in space, I'll be happy (not that there's anything wrong with that, but there are already groups for that haha).

If you’re writing about the natural world (which it sounds like you are), you’d fit right in. It’s a broad definition. It’s definitely okay if your writing incorporates other topics or if you have a journalistic or popular science approach rather than "nature writing." We welcome writers at any stage of their development. It’s about building a community to help us grow our skills.
